Tear Grants

Finished four out of nine letters now. Tear is my favourite character from Tales of the Abyss. The Tales games are my favourite JRPGs. Well, maybe they're tied with Final Fantasy. =] And I think I've figured out what I am going to do to put all this together. I still have until August 30th to get it sorted out.

Sorcerous Stabber Orphen. This counts because there was a game (Scion of Sorcery) on the PS2 based on the anime. =]

Rikku

The July-August Sprite Stitch contest this year is to make a variation of a video game alphabet. I decided to do my username (riotpatch) and use Abysswolf sprites from the Card Gallery. The best part about stitching these sprites is that before one finishes, it seems like one just stitched random blocks of colour. Then it all comes together when one takes a step back. Ah, I just love them! So here is the first one, Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2:

Within the next few days, I should have a certain character from Fire Emblem finished. There aren't a lot of characters that start with "I", ok? =]

Tale of the Cat

I actually made a counting error somewhere on this. I couldn't find exactly where so I just improvised instead of scrapping the whole thing. This sprite of Catwoman is from The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the SNES, one of the best Batman games out there. =]

As I was making this Tifa pattern below, PCStitch gave me the following error message. Oh snap! I always knew Tifa's girls had the capacity for such destruction!

Super Nintendo Stitches

The Super Nintendo is definitely my favourite gaming console, probably because it was my first. I've spent countless hours on it and it still runs like it's brand new 17 years later. Here are all the stitches I've done of various SNES games that have not already been posted:

Who remembers Super Ninja Boy?! Probably just my brother and I... I gave this to him for Christmas 2009:

Another favourite game that we played over and over, Pocky and Rocky:

Here are two "cards" from X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, Gambit and Wolverine:

From the Adventures of Batman and Robin, Harley Quinn:
I am currently working on Catwoman from this game as well.

I recently made this for a wedding gift, Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past:

And there you have it, all my video game cross stitch work so far. From now on all updates will feature brand new stitches. =]

All the Small Things...

This was my second VG project ever, a bookmark featuring Zelos from Tales of Symphonia. I don't know who made this sprite to give them credit. =[

My favourite Pokemon starter, Turtwig:

A stitching I ended up making into a card for Valentine's Day for my husband. An edited Bowser from Super Mario Bros. and a heart of Legend of Zelda on the NES:

Abysswolf Sprites

I am seriously in love with Abysswolf Sprites! Abysswolf's Deviant Art is here. So far I have done four of his Super Smash Bros. Brawl sprites.

I also plan to do Rozalin from Disgaea and Sheik from SSBB someday. At the very least... =]

Past Sprite Stitch Challenges

I credit SpriteStitch.com for kick-starting my video game cross stitching. My first VG cross stitch was for a monthly challenge. This was my contribution for Work in Silhouette:
Somehow I won with an edited screen shot from Aladdin on SNES. =P

Next was Lyrics/Quotations:
I came in third with my Blue Shell Breakdown. The shells are from Mario Kart 64 and the lyrics are from the song "Breakdown" on Use Your Illusion II by Guns N' Roses. ♥

In February 2010, we had a Bookmark challenge:
My bookmark based on the Game Over screen from Kirby's Dreamland 3 on the SNES landed me fourth place.

I just finished my pattern for the next challenge, which will be "Video Game Alphabet". I chose to do my username and have one sprite for each letter. I will be starting the actual stitching shortly...

Obiligatory First Post

Hello world!

I decided to start a blog to detail my adventures in video game cross stitching. I have been cross stitching for about 13 years and have been gaming even longer. It was only natural to combine the two. I started cross stitching video games in August of 2009 and have not looked back since. =]

The next few posts will cover the work that I have done thus far.

If there is something you would like made on commission, I would be happy to make it for you. Just send me a message. =]
