The fabric for my latest project finally arrived! I even threw a couple stitches into my Hogwarts Crest during the long wait. My latest start, is Donkey Kong by Abysswolf. I am stitching him for my little brother. ♥ I am using 28 count black Jobelan. This is my first project using this fabric and I love it. I never want to use aida again. =P
Joysze at Random Ramblings is hosting some madness called International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW) and it is exactly what it sounds like. I am happy to be taking part. It is unlikely I will be able to stitch the entire weekend but I will try, of course. Here is DK about four hours in and before the IHSW:

It's going to be huge when it's done.
NICE!!! Your little bro is going to love it.
Great to have you for company for IHSW. :D I have to confess... I should be stitching, and yet I'm catching up on blogs. LOL!
wow this is such a cool idea - you're very talented
He's looking great! I'm sure Mr. Kong will be fantastic when you him stitched :)
Re: The Jobelan - Really? You love it enough to forsake Aida?! I've heard a lot about it but have never tried it out myself. Is it much smoother than Aida?
looks like its going to be great,...but I personally prefer the old blocky Donnkey kong. But my good ole MR Kong doesn't quite have the flare as this one.
Not enough video game art has DK as the subject, very cool choice for the next piece.
Thanks for the comments, everyone!
@Aurelia: While I like Aida because it is easier to eyeball, I love the look of linen and other evenweaves. I hate stitching backgrounds and I just find evenweaves make a finished piece look cleaner maybe? Also, yes, stitching is very smooth!
@DocStout: Yes, the world needs more DK! The DKC trilogy to this day is my favourite series of games. I pick them up and play them at random all the time. I need to try and get back into DKC Returns but it's just not the same. =[
Thanks Karyn! I was wondering about the difference. I've never tried evenweave (though I do like the look of it), but have heard other stitchers rave about it time and again, so I might have to try it some day. Smooth stitching is the best kind ;)
